We have been working on a variety of projects this year - ranging from a 7th Grade Blog about the Middle East, iPads in 1st Grade, a variety of student created videos, many Student Website Creation, an Exploration class - Animate, Express Yourself, and Create with Technology, QR Codes, and Google Earth just to name a few. Health Projects - Bullying, Self-Image, Responsibility, and Substance Abuse
6th graders made an anti-bullying or a positive self image movie in Windows Movie Maker. 7th graders made a smilebox photo album about their 'baby watermelons' complete with videos and pictures. 8th graders made an anti-drug commericial. All resources for the projects are here: Health Projects

Global Collaboration
We have two global projects going on at the moment. We are working on creating About Us videos between an 8th Grade class at AISC and a 6th Grade class in Wisconsin. We also have two World History High School teachers from AISC collaborating with a teacher in the North Carolina. ANGEL is being used - hosted by the school in the North Carolina.
Middle School Geek Squad
The MS Geek Squad was a group of students who met every Monday to talk about technology, help teachers use technology, and find ways to help use technology for charity.
ePortfolios and Student Led Conferences
All students 6-8 grade are creating their own ePortfolio using the wiki tool in Microsoft SharePoints. The students will use these ePortfolios during their Student Led Conferences in the Spring.
7th Grade Wii Competition for Charity
7th grade students in their advisories are organizing, advertising, and running a Middle School Wii Competition to raise money for an Elementary Roots & Shoots club.
Charity Fair Game Lounge
During the Charity Fair on January 30th the Middle School Geek Squad is running a Game Lounge. All proceeds will go to charity.
ESL Voicethreads
A variety of ESL teachers are creating Voicethreads on topics in Humanities, Math, and Science. These voicethreads allow ESL students to communicate their ideas, practice their fluency, and reflect on their learning.
6th Grade Welcome to AISC Advisory Video
6th grade students are creating an introduction to the school video. Each advisory is taking a different topic and recording a short skit. A special 6th Grade Computer Club will edit and produce the video.
7th Grade Popcorn Shop - Audio Book
Students created an audio book to dbe shared with the Elementary school. Students recorded in Audacity and special attention was paid to voice, intonation, and fluency of the oral reading.
8th Grade Recording a Solo Performance
Students learned how to use Audacity to record a solo performance for their ePortfolio. This solo performance will be uploaded to SharePoint and used as part of their ePortfolio.
7th Grade ESL Darwin's Voyage
Students used Google Earth to create a virtual tour of the various places visited by Charles Darwin. Students worked in groups with each group researching unusual characteristics, physical traits, and geography of the location. This information was then added to the virtual tour.
6th Grade Jumping Origami Frogs
Students used Animoto to present their results of a Math/Science combined project. They used PowerPoint (creating a slide and right-click to save as image) and Snagit to make the images that they then uploaded to Animoto.
6th Grade India Research Project
Students chose a topic in India they wanted to research. The teacher created a video on Animoto to show them all the different options. Students then created a presentation based around the essential questions they wanted answered about their topic.
8th Grade Slope Intercept Form in the Real World
Students took pictures of lines around campus. Students then added the pictures to a new layer in the below Paint.net file (SIFtemplate.pdn). Students used the grid to determine the correct Slope Intercept Form of their line. Students labeled their line in Paint.net. An example of a finished project: 
NESA Virtual Science Fair
Students worked collaboratively in groups to complete a science fair project. In the process they created a movie to introduce themselves to their ementors, researched their topic, worked with data analysis tools, used a wiki and blog function in Blackboard.
ESL 8th Grade Ancient Civilization Tour in Google Earth
Students used placemarks in Google Earth to create a virtual tour of the ancient civilizations they have studied. Students saved the KML file and presented it to the class.
HS ESL Blogging
Students in a High School ESL Humanities class are working on a collaborative blog where they will correspond to one another and write reflections on their learning.
7th Grade Stop Motion Whiteboard Animation of Meiosis
Students used digital cameras and whiteboards to create a stop motion animation of meiosis. Students added music and produced the project as a video.
6th and 7th Grade Art Stop Motion Whiteboard Animation
Students learned how to create a stop motion whiteboard animation. Students then used this skill to create a short film on any topic they wanted.
8th Grade Virtual Renaissance Fair
Students were grouped in pairs and assigned one renaissance "tent" or attraction. Students then found artifacts, researched, and created their own Virtual Renaissance Fair in Voicethread. 6th Grade Wanted Posters
Prehistoric Man: Students chose a hominid to investigate in books and on the internet. Once they collected their information, they then built a "Wanted Poster" for their hominid highlighting the information gathered and their creativity.

8th Grade Origins of Algebra Voicethread
Students had to research the history of Algebra and then make a text post on a Voicethread page about what they found most interesting from their research. Students then commented on each others posts. At the end of the project students reflected on the project and what they learned. (please email me for the link)

7th Grade Classroom Library Book Reviews in Voicethread
Students recorded a one minute book review on one of the books in the classroom library. This voicethread will be used next year to help new students decide what books to read. The students next year will also add to this voicethread with their own reviews. (please email me for the link)
8th Grade Final Thoughts on the NESA Virtual Science Fair
